On 19 November 2013, Traders Upper East Hotel, Beijing received the 8th International Hotel Platinum Award – Top Ten City Charm Hotels at the 8th International Hotel Forum and Awarding Ceremony held in Mount Huang (in Anhui Province).
Many experts from High-end Hotel Investment Developers, International Hotel Group and Domestic Hotel Group were invited to participate in the ceremony. All candidates went through online voting, media voting and evaluation by the assessment committee. Finally, the winners for the International Hotel Platinum Dominates Award were selected based on a comprehensive assessment of the number of votes and the candidates’ influence on and contribution to society.
The Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and the General Administration of Press and Publications of the People’s Republic of China hosted the forum. Nearly 500 attendees from the China National Tourism Administration, hotel industry associations at national and provincial levels, high-grade hotels, hotel suppliers and the media were present.
The Platinum Award is one of the highest awards in the hospitality industry in China. It is authorised by the International Tourism Federation to honour the most outstanding hotel and individual of the year.
